Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored more Liga hat-tricks than anyone else after netting all three goals in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Celta Vigo.
The result means Carlo Ancelotti’s side have now recorded 18 successive wins, equalling the Spanish record set byFrank Rijkaard’s Barcelona team in the 2005-06 season.
However, Celta Vigo made the contest more difficult for Los Blancos than the scoreline suggested, with Ronaldo’s opening penalty kick a point of contention. The Portuguese winger looked to throw himself to the ground easily before brushing himself off to convert from 12 yards.
Ronaldo netted his second after 65 minutes, meeting a deflection on the volley to beat Sergio Alvarez, before turning home a Marcelo cross at the back post with just under 10 minutes to play.
